Midsummer Festival Questing for XP

I recently wrote a guide for The Best WoW Gold Guide detailing how you can make nearly 600 gold at level 70 by completing all the Midsummer Festival bonfire quests. About halfway through it I realized that this is a great way for under-70 players to take a break from the slaughter of leveling to make some solid xp. At least until July 4, when the festival packs up its bags until next year.

There are 62 bonfires spread throughout Outland and Azeroth, by visiting each one and speaking to the keeper (for friendly bonfires) or dousing it (enemy bonfires) you will earn some money and experience. While completing these before level 70 will not earn you much in the way of gold they will earn you some very nice xp.

The XP will vary according to level and I am not sure what the formula is to determine how much, but it is a very nice boost for those who do not mind some traveling. So far I have been able to level my Druid from 53 to 54 exclusively on the bonfires in Kalimdor.

Before I get to the list of bonfires I also want to mention the importance of the Ribbon Dance poles. There is a pole at each bonfire and clicking it will give you a +10% XP boost – that stacks with your rested XP bonus.

When you click the pole you will grasp a glowing streamer and start spinning – make sure to stay connected to the pole because the XP buff duration increases by three minutes every five seconds for a maximum of a 60-minute duration. I recommend even if you are not planning on completing the bonfire quests, you at least pay visits to the closest Ribbon Pole to take advantage of the free XP.

Here is the list of all the bonfires to make your life easier when doing these quests. This is much easier to do at level 60 and later if you have an epic mount, but with my Druid, a regular mount and this list I was still able to clear Kalimdor in about an hour.

When you combine a step-by-step guide like the Elite Leveling Guide with an XP boost like you get from the Ribbon Dance Poles, you should be able to level a character to 70 by the time the festival ends.
