Free Teleports to Major Cities = Fast Quest Leveling

I wrote this post for The Best WoW Gold Guide and looking back over it, I realized it has a lot of use for people who are grinding experience to level their Horde or Alliance characters. It cuts down on time in the “green questing” strategy by ALOT.

If you didn’t know, Green Questing is a leveling strategy used for soloing quests in which you quest in one area until your quests turn orange, then move to the next equivalent area (i.e. from Darkshore to Dun Morogh or from Silverpine to the Barrens) and then complete all that area’s green quests. Then you move on to the next area (from previous example it would be Westfall or Ghostlands) and do the same. You then set yourself up in a migration cycle that will allow you to easily solo most quests and experience all the questing content for your faction. This is a very old leveling strategy that a lot of experienced players may not use much anymore, but is still an awesome leveling strategy to use for players new to the game (i.e. “nubs” – we were all there once).

In in the center of Shattrath City at the Terrace of Light, there are free portals to every major city in WoW (only your own faction’s portals are accessible to you). Have a level 70 mage teleport you there or have a level 70 warlock summon you, then make your way to either the Draenei inn or Blood Elf inn (depending on your faction) and attune your hearthstone to it.

Voila – you now have a way to teleport to each of your faction’s cities for free. That is, by hearthing to the inn and making the short run to your desired portal. You can also watch the level 70s shake their heads when they see a level 11 run past them in Shattrath, lol.
