Joana’s real name is Paul. Joana is a character name, and actually he writes under a pen name, Bob Norris.

The leveling in 5 days is only 60-70, and it’s with rested xp, so that actually comes out to about 15 days. So 1-70 about a month.

The all time record for leveling is now set for 1-70 as 1 day, 2 hours and 31 minutes (1-70). This is for time played as well as real time. It was a record playing event, which included 2 characters, one of the peeps was Athene (greatest palladin in the world).

He is speeding up x2 sometimes or even MORE and he never shows the 4 days 20 hours 49 minutes /played xD

It’s really nice to see how someone plays the game with this speed. Then again, with some skinning the toon would have mount on lv40, but that would have cost some time in the overall performance.

Does anyone know of similar vids on other classes? Hunter is the best PvE leveller, so it would be nice to have some comparison from other classes, too.

Great vids, good fun to watch and it’s always ‘educational’ to see someone else play…

To clarify, I didn’t make these videos – Joana did. And these are the old school originals from a couple years ago. I posted them this way so they’re all in one place, and you can literally watch WoW’s premier speed-leveler in action from 1-60.

The camera is speeded up in some parts, I recall him saying he did this to keep the videos relatively short, not boring and low-bandwidth. Also, you can’t really expect to simply watch these videos and suddenly get to 60 in five days! This was his best time, the one which won him the leveling contest. And it is /played time, I think it actually took him around two weeks of IRL time.

While I’m sure he and others have since beaten this time, they have the benefit of his written, step-by-step guide and the MetaMap addon. If you really want to train as a speed-leveler you will want this guide and that addon or Cartographer (among other essential mods). Plus, like anything in life, you need to practice to be the best.
